Medicine & Technology
5-year Bachelor/Master
education offered by
University of Copenhagen and
Technical University of Denmark
|
Medicine and Technology is an education in biomedical engineering startet in september 2003.
The course programme is multi-disciplinary, combining courses in basic
medical science at the Faculty of Health Science,
the University of Copenhagen,
with courses in applied sciences, classical engineering and core courses in
biomedical engineering at the Technical University of Denmark.
Enrollment is limited to 60 students. Since the number of qualified applicants exceeds this number by
more than a factor three, students are accepted based on the average grade from their qualifying educations.
The programme is divided into a 3-year Bachelor programme containing 180 ECTS-points
and a 2-year Masters programme containing 120 ECTS-points. In the Bachelor programme
the majority of courses are taught in Danish, while in Masters programme,
the majority of courses are taught in English.
The programme is based on coursework followed by exam projects. Courses range from 5 - 20 ECTS-points
and the average work load corresponds to 30 ECTS-points per semester.
Enrollment in the complete Bachelor programme by applicants with other than a scandinavian high-school education
requires documentation for proficiency in the Danish language. International students not proficient in Danish may enroll at
the University of Copenhagen or the Technical University of Denmark within their standard international programmes
and then enroll in courses taught in English. Courses taught in English at the Technical University of Denmark are listed in the
course handbook.
